Forest Training Center Kadugodi Bengaluru
This Centre was started in 1985-86 as “Social Forestry Training Centre” to train the in-service officers/ officials in Social Forestry Programme. The Centre was headed by an Assistant Conservator of Forests. In 1992, the administrative block containing office cum lecture hall was constructed. The training centre was renamed as “Forest Technical and Administrative Training Centre” in 1995. From 2005 to 2009 September the Centre was headed by the Deputy Conservator of Forests and from September 2009 till date the Centre is headed by the Assistant Conservator of Forests. It is located about 30 kms from the centre of Bangalore towards East on Whitefield Main Road. The Centre is spread over an area of 41.93 acres or 16.70 hectares.
The Centre is equipped with one administrative block, one well furnished classroom, one conference hall, one computer laboratory, gents as well as ladies hostels, gymnasium, multi-utility building, indoor games hall, volleyball court and a mess.
The Centre has trained 1 batch of Dy. RFO cum Surveyor with 35 trainees, 3 batches of Forest Guards with a total of 153 trainees, 3 batches of Forest Watchers with a total of 128 trainees, 4 batches of First Division Assistants (FDA) with a total of 190 trainees and 2 batches of Second Division Assistants (SDA) with a total of 102 trainees so far. Currently 1 batch of Forest Guards with 35 trainees is undegoing the second semester of their induction training.
Presently there are 1 Deputy Conservator of Forests, 1 Assistant Conservator of Forests, 3 Range Forest officers, 2 Deputy Range Forest Officers, 2 Forest Guards and 2 watchers and ministerial staff for its administration.
