Mr. G. Ravender Rao: A Visionary Leader and Renowned Technocrat with Over Four Decades of Remarkable Expertise

Mr. G. Ravender Rao is a visionary entrepreneur and technocrat of extraordinary repute with a distinguished career spanning more than forty years in the engineering and healthcare industries. His path has been nothing short of inspirational, and it all started with a Mechanical Engineering degree from REC Warangal.

Beginning his career in the public sector, Mr. Rao worked for the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation for two years and the Panchayat Raj department for another two. Disenchanted with the bureaucracy of government institutions, he joined forces with friends to embark on a journey into the private industry.

In 1978, Mr. Ravender Rao founded Yashoda Vacuum Industries, pioneering the manufacturing of Yashoda Xerox drums, a significant import substitute. Under his leadership, Yashoda Industries became a vital supplier, catering to more than 70% of India’s Xerox drum requirements.

In 1985, Mr. Rao expanded his entrepreneurial horizons by establishing Yashoda Special Metals. This venture played a pivotal role in producing zirconium granules for the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) and magnesium powder, a fundamental component in missiles made by ordnance companies. Both of these goods were essential import alternatives that considerably increased India’s independence in key areas.

Collaborating with his younger brothers, Dr. G. Surender Rao and Mr. G. Devender Rao, Mr. Ravender Rao went on to establish the esteemed Yashoda Group of Hospitals. He currently serves as the head of this prestigious healthcare consortium, underlining his enduring commitment to providing top-quality medical services.

He comes from a humble background. Originating from the village of Gumadavalli in Nalgonda District, Mr. Ravender Rao’s remarkable journey is a testament to his dedication to both professional excellence and social responsibility. He enthusiastically contributes more than 10% of his earnings and his time to numerous social service programmes, underscoring his outstanding commitment to society. He has placed more than 4,000 orphans and socially weaker youth in various organizations after training in employable skills through YASHODA FOUNDATION.
