It has Doddenakundi to its north, Kundalahalli and Brookefield to its east and Kadubeesanahalli on the south. The locality of Marathahalli got its name when the fighter plane Marut crashed into this area. Back then, it used to be a small village in the outskirts of Bengaluru. When the IT industry in Bengaluru exploded, Marathahalli was transformed overnight into a self-sufficient region. Interestingly, the locality is a residential, commercial as well as an industrial hotspot of Bengaluru. It is one of the earliest developed localities in Bengaluru and there are a number of factory outlets of popular brand names like Lee, Levis, Woodland, Fila, Puma, and so on.
